Q: What Kinds of Services Do You Provide?

A:  Personal care services are designed to take over or assist in the activities of daily living that seniors need to be able to stay at home safely and effectively.  These may include everything from keeping the home clean, to doing the laundry, making the meals, shopping, assisting with medications or bathing—or just simple companionship.

Q:  Does Your Agency Provide Other Services, such as, Transportation?

A:  Yes!  AAging Better provides transport to a doctor’s appointment, shopping, prescription refills or other types of health-related appointments.  Our caregivers may even act as escorts if the client wishes to drive his or her own car but prefers to have someone accompany them for safety reasons.  As regards other types of services, AAging Better makes every effort to assist with other requests clients or family members may make.  Give us a call to discuss any unusual needs you may have.

Q:  What Is the Primary Difference Between Your Services and an Institution’s Services?

A:  “Institutions” generally refer to Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes.  Agencies such as AAging Better offer “in-home” care to clients which enable the senior or disabled individuals to stay in the comfort of their own homes.  Even when elderly individuals become totally bedridden and in need of 24-hour care, families have the choice of keeping the loved ones at home.   Our services can provide the level of care necessary to sustain the individuals safely within their home environments.  And under all circumstances the cost of the care is carefully examined to ensure that the in-home services provided continue to be cost effective.

Q:  How Does the Cost of AAging Better Compare with Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes…or Other In-Home Care Agencies?

A:  Depending on the amount of hours of care needed each day, the average AAging Better service runs from ¼ to ½ that of Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes (costs will vary depending on the amount of hours being covered).  And our cost-per-hour charge is highly competitive as compared with other in-home care agencies throughout North Idaho.  We pride ourselves in keeping our costs to the clients and families as low and as cost effective as possible.

Q:  Can This Help My Parents Conserve the Assets They Worked Hard to Build All Their Lives?

A:  Yes!  Any assets a person spends for their own care is that much less that will be available for the government, through Medicaid or taxes, to take away.  Most individuals would rather see their assets spent keeping themselves or their loved ones at home and independent rather than have them taken to reimburse the government or used against them to pay taxes.

Q:  Can I Change My Caregiver’s Schedule to Meet My Needs?

A:  Changes are easily accomplished with as little as 72 hour’s notice to our office staff.  We make every effort to provide our clients with times that match their needs and wishes, not the agency’s.  We do everything possible to ensure you or your loved one gets the scheduled hours they request or need even when the regularly assigned caregiver calls in sick or unable to make the shift.

Q:  How Do I Start Services?

A:  See the contact section, or call 1-866-464-2344 to schedule a free in-home assessment or address any questions or concerns you may have.  We will gladly identify caregivers who have the skills, personality and attitudes best suited for you or your loved one.  You will then be able to meet the caregiver(s) and if you approve, we will set a mutually agreed upon date to begin services.  Please give us a call to find out more about our services.
