 AAging Better offers Idaho, home care services and health care for the elderly or disabled from 2 hours up to 24-hours a day, 7 days per week throughout all five North Idaho counties. We begin by conducting a free in-home assessment to determine the level of home care services a new client might need or has requested. This may take about an hour to “get acquainted” and provides both AAging Better and the client or his/her family members to meet with one another to better establish a comfort level and good working relationship. When necessary, we consult with the client’s physician(s), social worker, hospital or any other care providers or agencies, as appropriate.
We then develop a Plan of Care, in conjunction with involved family members, that outlines the client’s specialized needs, likes and dislikes and any other information necessary to ensure the client’s safety and well-being at home. As we begin care in the home, we match the needs of the client to the best possible caregiver by encouraging our clients to help in the selection of their home health caregiver through interviews or introductory meetings. Bringing a stranger into an individual’s home for the first time is difficult in the best of circumstances and this method of introduction has proven to be effective and welcomed by our clients and/or their involved family members.
